A new Virtual Jobs Fair has been launched on a Northamptonshire Industrial Estate – with more than 1,000 jobs already being advertised.
Brackmills Industrial Estate is one of the UK’s premier logistics and transport parks, located in the logistics ‘Golden Triangle’, just off Junction 15 of the M1. The Brackmills Business Improvement District (BID), which represents businesses based on the estate, has responded to both the seasonal increase in vacancies and the restrictions that COVID-19 has placed on job hunters and businesses alike, by launching this brand new online jobs fair.
The jobs fair is available for both those who are seeking work and Brackmills businesses with vacancies to fill. The BID is actively encouraging local people to get involved.
Charlotte Patrick, Vice Chair of Brackmills BID, said: “We are absolutely delighted to launch this new online jobs fair, which promotes vacancies and apprenticeships on our industrial estate. It’s incredible to see that there are already over 1,000 vacancies being promoted. Logistics is a key employer in our county, with over one in seven being employed in this sector. As we move towards the peak season, there are an increasing number of job opportunities on Brackmills across a wide variety of roles and organisations, and we are keen to help get people into work and support businesses needing staff.”
Among the jobs being promoted online are positions at Cygnia and DHL. There are a large range of other big companies on Brackmills, such as Travis Perkins, Dachser, Asda, John Lewis, iPSL and many more.
Charlotte added: “As well as job vacancies, our Brackmills Virtual Job Fair includes useful resources from the University of Northampton and Job Centre Plus, and it’s been so powerful that these local organisations have been supporting this.”
Matthew Lindsell of DHL said: “With an increasing demand, we need to attract the best possible talent to meet the needs of our customers. So, the ability to promote new DHL vacancies on the Brackmills website is proving a huge support – especially since Brackmills is also promoting the jobs fair and all the vacancies on the estate via the local press and social media. It’s really helping us to maximise our marketing coverage.”
Simone Stanbra, Industrial Manager of ACS Recruitment, said: “With our office in the heart of Northampton, we have a lot of local roles, and this new Virtual Jobs Fair is a great way for us to promote the roles we have on Brackmills Industrial Estate. As we enter the peak season, there are a whole variety of opportunities available, and with Brackmills being such a nice place to work, we’re so happy that we can help people find work there – especially at a time when people may really need a job.”
