Gregory Property Group has submitted a full planning application to deliver a new 145,250 sq ft logistics site in Rockingham, Barnsley.

The ten-acre site is located fronting the A6195 Dearne Valley Parkway with direct access to Junction 36 of the M1 motorway. It was formerly an open cast coal mining site which has since been fully remediated for development and already benefits from an adopted road access via a dedicated roundabout spur.

Gregory Property Group plans to speculatively build out the scheme which consists of three purpose designed industrial/warehouse units of 37,750 sq ft, 43,000 sq ft and 64,500 sq ft. Each will include first floor office accommodation and private and secure service yard space.

The site is allocated for employment within the Barnsley Unitary Development plan and is already prepared for immediate development. The location, less than half a mile from the M1, is an established logistic hub and we are confident that our speculative development venture will attract strong occupier interest.”

Subject to planning consent Gregory Property Group hopes to start the speculative development on site by the end of 2021 with a 12-month delivery programme. The three new units will be offered to let.
