International and European bulk powder and granular materials logistics specialist Simon Gibson Transport has taken delivery of fifty-one new Volvo 6×2 tractor units. All are equipped with the factory-fitted light-weight Volvo pusher axle. The trucks were supplied by Crossroads Truck and Bus, Hull.
Headquartered in Goole, East Yorkshire with twenty-four operating centres spread throughout the UK and additional offices in Glasgow and Kent, Simon Gibson Transport is part of the European logistics provider Groupe Charles André (GCA).

This major truck order is all additional fleet investment being undertaken by Simon Gibson Transport to improve capacity in line with continuing business growth. The company currently operates one hundred and eighty six trucks.

The bulk of the order is for thirty-one high spec Globetrotter-cabbed, FH-500 tractor units equipped with I-Shift automated gearboxes. The top-spec cabs feature leather upholstery and factory-fitted driver comforts such as a fridge-freezer. The rest of the order comprises twenty FM-460 tractor units.

All the trucks have been placed on Volvo Gold R&M contracts and are being maintained in the Volvo dealer network and at Crossroads Truck and Bus,Hull.
